From April there will be a new way of doing a SafePlus self-assessment.
This online tool will be retired on 12 June 2025. It is at the end of its life and would require significant resource to rebuild.
If you have set up or run an assessment using the tool, you can access your data and reports in your account dashboard as usual until 12 June 2025. After this, the data will be destroyed, in accordance with the Privacy Act. This information will no longer be accessible after the shutdown.
Alternatively, you can request a copy of all your assessment reports and set-up data within the last five years to be sent to you as a zip file for your records. If you want to request your data but have assessments in progress or planned to start by 11 April 2025, please wait until those assessments have closed. Data can be requested until 11.59pm on 12 June 2025.
Our FAQs have more information about starting an assessment before the tool closes and how to access the data from your previous assessments.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our support team at support@safeplus.co.nz.
We aim to make it easy for businesses to do regular self-assessments of their health and safety environment to identify areas they can improve.
From April 2025, the online tool is being replaced with downloadable questions - in multiple languages - that can be used much more flexibly as a paper-based survey or in any online survey tool (at the user's cost). This means all data will remain with the business itself. A business can use their workers' responses to the questions to calculate their health and safety rating in three key areas, and they can repeat the survey to see their progress year on year. See 'SafePlus self-assessment resources' on WorkSafe's website for details.
SafePlus onsite assessments by independent SafePlus assessors are also available.
We would like to thank everyone who has used the SafePlus online tool to help keep people healthy and safe at work.
